There are plenty of other materials in the library other than books. However, books and other printed material form the most important part of the library collection. Various useful databases and other digital material perform an increasingly important role in the library's reference services.

Databases

The library has acquired several databases which are free for customer use on library computers. Altogether there are more than 30 databases, although some of them are only in Finnish (a full list of databases can be found in the Finnish pages).

Databases are divided by subject category on the Databases page. There are library databases and book catalogues (such as WorldCat), article databases of both Finnish and foreign newspapers and magazines (e.g. Ebsco and PressDisplay).

You can also find dictionaries and encyclopaedias, such as Encyclopaedia Britannica, Grove Art and Grove Music.
