The Library 10 is a stomping ground for music lovers. A wide and versatile music collection is available on loan, for example books ranging from classical to rock music, historical to the present.
Library 10 has a collection of approximately 40,000 recordings, the majority of which are CDs along with some vinyl records.
Library 10 also has a variety of materials related to the music field: books, magazines, tablature and notation and dvds. The library’s collection also includes books and magazines on IT, publishing, media and film, travel, and topics of multi-cultural works.
In addition, the comics collection includes both Finnish and foreign language works, with styles ranging from the traditional to cutting edge, from Disney to manga.
The library’s procurement of digital materials such as music, art, and article databases as well as encyclopedias and dictionaries can be accessed through the patron workstations or from one’s own laptop.
All materials may be checked-out at the automated self-check-out machines and returned at the automated book return machine. The self-check-out machine requires a library card and a PIN-code. The staff will gladly demonstrate their use.
Different materials are generally located in the same area within the library. For example national folk and world music CDs, travel guides, travel magazines, and DVDs are located in the World Area.
