The Töölö Library building typifies modernism and is a fine example of library architecture in the 1960s.The library is situated next to the Topelius park. When the library building was being planned, one of the starting points was the seamless consolidation of the building and the surrounding park. Curved shapes, light colors, bright spaces divided by glass walls and large windows opening onto the park are typical architectural features.
The library has a large and wide-ranging selection of books, newspapers, magazines, music and films. E-book readers, energy consumption monitors and outdoor games are available to borrowers. Customers can make use of several of in-house computers and the free wireless internet connection Stadinetti. A VHS-to-DVD recorder and a Playstation are available and there is a book recycling point. The Mika Waltari hall can be rented for non-commercial purposes. The Töölö Library stages a wide range of happenings. Ask the staff for more information!
