Focus on children
The library offers numerous interesting events and performances for children and their families: you are welcome to attend Baby Kino or storytime. Storytime is organised in several languages. Check the calendar (in Finnish) for a list of times and dates.
A popular place to hang out
For young people, the library offers a cosy place for doing homework, playing games and meeting up with friends. The shelves are packed with comics, DVDs and books, magazines and music for young people.

One-to-one with the computer
Do you have trouble using a computer? The library organises training and guidance in computer use. We offer popular computer classes for the elderly, laptop clubs and guidance tailored according to your needs. You can use our Asko client PCs, print and scan. Book a computer
We also offer the use of a copy machine (0.40 € per page) and the Stadinetti WLAN connection free-of-charge. So, you can occasionally also work in the library!
Bestsellers just waiting to be read
You can read and check out over 200 different magazines, and our collections also include new literature, films and games. If we don’t have what you are looking for, you can easily order it from the other libraries. The selection of the entire HelMet Library is at your disposal.
Literature and Finnish language discussions
You can participate in a book club where we explore the fascinating world of literature and have lively conversations on what we have read. The Finnish learning group meets every two weeks and offers immigrants the possibility to brush up on their everyday spoken Finnish. Check the calendar (in Finnish) for a list of times and dates.
Meetings and discussions
The library’s two meeting rooms can be reserved by anyone at an affordable price. For reservations and inquiries regarding these rooms, call tel. 09 310 85983. Small-scale discussions and lectures can also be arranged in the library’s newspaper area.
